Ruaha National Park is Tanzania's largest national park at 20,226 square kilometers, yet remains one of Africa's best-kept secrets. Located in the southern circuit, Ruaha offers a truly wild safari experience with minimal tourist traffic and pristine landscapes.
The Great Ruaha River is the park's lifeline, attracting massive concentrations of wildlife during the dry season. Ruaha is famous for having one of the largest elephant populations in East Africa, plus healthy populations of lions (including large prides), leopards, wild dogs, and both greater and lesser kudu.
With its rugged terrain of baobab-dotted hills, miombo woodlands, and riverine forests, Ruaha provides an authentic African wilderness experience far from the beaten path.
